Enrollment options
This training is designed to address, with pharmacogenomic testing, the selection of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressants that are first line options in the treatment of depression. This training will teach the ethics and basics of PGx-guided depression treatment, specifically in the setting of community pharmacies conducting clinical research. Additionally, this training will cover ways to enhance comprehensive medication reviews conducted by pharmacists to improve PGx-guided depression treatment.

SELF-PACED, ONLINE STUDY
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is aimed to target a specific group of community-based pharmacists who will be implementing PGx-guided medication management visits for research participants whoa re taking medication(s) to treat their depression.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:- Describe how pharmacogenomic (PGx) variation affects the toxicity and efficacy of antidepressants in the context of depressive disorders
- Analyze and interpret PGx test results utilizing CPIC guidelines for SSRIs
- Discuss clinical decision-making in PGx including phenoconversion and drug-drug interactions
- Explore best practices for returning PGx test results to patients and documentation of PGx test results

Pharmacy (CPE)
This knowledge-based activity provides 1.5 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education credit. Other health care professionals will receive a certificate of attendance confirming the number of contact hours commensurate with the extent of participation in this activity.
Continuing education can be claimed for the above learner groups. Learners must complete the full program (view all modules and attain a grade of 80% or higher on the assessment) as well as submit the required information to the CE office (e.g., profile information and evaluations) prior to the deadline to receive continuing education credit.
